    Description

This is a  9 " Asian Opera Doll.  A male figure wearing a square type hat and holding a blue book in his right hand.
When you touch the body it makes a crunching noise, similar to straw when it was a common stuffing for dolls and toys 50-60 years ago. This may have some straw stuffing.
The Red silk robe is in great condition. Red is a symbol of Luck and Good Fortune.  No rips or tears.
There is some paint loss to his hat, see photo.
    He is missing his shoes.
Lifting up his robe, his body was handmade.
His hands and face are made of ceramic or clay. Hand painted face..  Note the 2 holes in his face for nose holes.
His arms and legs have wire, so he can be posed.
    Thanks for looking.
